Dialup Setup - Mac OS X

Please keep these instructions near your computer. If your computer crashes and you need to reinstall everything, use this as a guide for getting your connection to Linxure properly set up again. If you lose these instructions, go to the Linxure web site at http://www.linxure.net/support-setup.php and print them again as soon as possible.

Operating systems supported by Linxure are Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Mac 9 or Mac OS X. All other operating systems are not supported. If you can make another operating system work, that's great, by all means use it. Linxure does not provide technical assistance for any operating system not listed above. Specifically, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, and MacOS 7 & 8 are not supported. If you use one of these operating systems, please upgrade.

  1. Go up to the Apple Menu -> System Preferences
  2. Click Network
  3. Change the Connect Via menu to PPP
  4. For the Name Servers box, put in 216.223.6.2 and 216.223.6.3
  5. Put Linxure.net in the search domain box


  6. Click the PPP tab
  7. For Service Provider put Linxure
  8. For Telephone Number put a number from the dialup number page
  9. For Account Name enter your username as provided
  10. For password enter your password as provided
  11. Optionally select the Save Password checkbox


  12. Optionally click PPP Options and select the "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications" checkbox
