Family of Squire Washington Aldridge, Jr.



Here is another member of the Aldridge family, Squire Washington Aldridge, Jr. He was born in Hawesville, Hancock Co., KY and later moved to Pasadena, CA. We stopped to visit him in 1969 when he was an elderly man. He lived in a beautiful stone house; he had gone up into the mountains around Pasadena, brought the stone down with a wagon and team of mules and built the home himself. He is the son of Squire and Hannah Gillians Aldridge. He married Stella Marie Birlenbach and had 3 daughters. The only surviving daughter is 86 years old; I call her to keep up with how she and her husband are doing. The little girl in the picture in front of her mom is she. Squire Washington Aldridge, Jr. (sitting), wife Stella Marie Birlenbach (standing behind Squire), Pauline Aldridge (sitting on her father's knee), and Ruth Hannah Aldridge (standing in front of her mother). The photo is dated Sept. 3, 1914.
