I think I'm too old for a first marriage or to be starting a family. I don't reckon I'll be getting married this lifetime. If I started a relationship and waited a reasonable period, say about 3 years, to see if it would last before becoming a parent, then by the time the child was 15, I'd be in my 60's. Also, I've got the approximate relationship experience of an arrogant 23 year old combined with the set-in-my-ways'ness of a 40 year old bachelor - not the best combo for integrating my life with someone else's. Life has slapped me down enough that I don't have so much of the arrogance (or optimism or eagerness), though.
