I grew up on my dad's farm near Rolette, North Dakota, a bustling metropolis about 25 miles northeast of the center of the continent. Dad farmed roughly 1000 acres of wheat, barley, oats, potatos, alfalfa and for a time raised some corn. He and his brother Cecil were partners in the farm until Cecil's death in 1969. Growing up on a farm is great, you got lots of room to play, lots of barns and sheds to play in, and your dad isn't away at some mysterious job in the city all day.
